But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men,
(1 Thessalonians 2:4}
And God said, Let there be light: (Gen 1:3)
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” (John 8:12)
The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. (Gen 3:21)
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
Behold, I will do a new thing…I will even make a way in the wilderness (Isaiah 43:19)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD (Isaiah 1:18)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us (1 John 1:9)
He has surely made a way in the wilderness for us! And that way has arrived in many areas where the Lord then “opened the door of faith to the” Apurina. (Acts 14:27)
You know Brad just returned from a 63 day trip to the United States. In that time he traveled over 8200 miles , through 18 states, visiting over 20 churches and 10 home fellowships. Anyone who thinks that a trip to the United States is a vacation, or that ministry only happens here in Brazil come along some time and see what it is like.
Was God moving? YES! Oh how glorious it is to be called and used by the LORD God, creator of the Heavens and the Earth!
Melissa and the kids were busy with their home school studies, doing outreaches in the local communities, and “holding the fort down.” Melissa has started teaching Sunday School in our local church in the city of Manaus.
From Brad, “Thank you for all of the love you showed towards me and our family as I came across the U.S. Also, thank you to each of the people who counseled with me over future ministry vision, giving me encouragement and helping me keep my eyes focused upon the Lord.”
Being back in Brazil now for 4 days, we are now planning for our next trip into the Villages, May 7th – 31st. On this trip, we will cast our future vision to the people in all three villages and encourage the leaders to “Fight the good fight of faith,” (1 Tim 6:12) and to take “hold of the eternal life to which” they were “called when” they made their “good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
We will continue our methodology of teaching in the morning School of Ministry classes, but change the format in the nightly services. Instead of teaching/preaching the nightly sessions using our notes from the morning classes, we will start the systematic teaching through whole books of the Bible. Also, we want to start recording those nightly messages and then load them onto thumb drives, SD cards and even various iPod style units so that the people can continue to listen to the messages while we are in the city.
